Mechanisms involved in the development of the cerebellar cortex: The focus is on peptides controlling the proliferation, migration, differentiation and survival of cerebellar granule cells. Use of peptides and stem cells expressing peptides for the treatment of stroke: The focus is on the effect on peptides on the infarct volume, apoptosis, oxidative stress, inflammatory response and functional recovery related to brain ischemia. Investigation of the toxic effects of alcohol on the brain in a model of Alcohol Foetal Syndrom (AFS) and in a model of Binge Drinking: The focus is on the effect of peptides on oxidative stress, cell death and neurological deficits induced by ethanol exposure
